Artist Statement
I am fascinated with discarded materials, and challenged with creating new life from these objects. I enjoy working with paper by hand-building and casting paper. By making multiples, it allows the possibility of play to occur by pushing and redoing variations within a specific form. I enjoy popular culture, which influences my intention of using discarded materials, making multiples, and my approach for creating art with a childlike perspective.
Biography
As a child, my grandmother provided my first art experiences. My grandmother went to California College of Arts & Crafts in 1937-38. While my grandmother introduced me to art at a very young age, it would be these same early projects and materials that I would choose to continue to work with as an adult.
